The Colors in the photo are the first thing we see. They bring the 'rockstar,' 'music' mood to the atmosphere. It also suggests movement. The composition overall brings a certain excitement as you look at it.
I think this photo looks like a children's prison. The light isn't bringing color to the photo. The only color is inthe painting on the wall but the light isn't making it more vibrant, they actually look more dull. The angle of light is going through the window to show the window pattern on the wall.
The sharp angle of the overhead spotlight gives this piece the drama because it accentuates the water flying up and all around the guitarist.
The intesity of the sunlight is bleaching out the diver while casting wicked shadows of the boys.
At the angle that this picture was taken, it causes the light coming through the windowed ceiling and side to cause this couple to look silhouetted. I love this picture!
The bright sun is almost splitting the picture in two. One with the golden light and the other is more white/blue. This contrast suggests drama or the converging of two worlds and helps us set the mood in our minds.
The diffused light coming through the fog is wonderful. It helps this scene in the moving be very mystical and almost unreal. The scene starts real dark and as the lovers get closer to each other the light gets brighter and brighter and cuts through the mists of uncertainty and their worlds come together in a bright sunrise on a new life!
These lights really set the mood for a romantic or dramatic evening. They go along with the landscape and suggest the stars. They are pretty intense so even though they are almost art, they are showing light as well.
I love the warm light in this picture. The angle casts light into the cavern which in turn creates hard shadow off the pillars and create some mystery.
I thought this picture was funny because i have never seen flourescent blue and pink light in an airplane before but it is definetly setting a mood.
More Mood lighting. How cool is this floor?! the different colors make it unique and dramatic and the way they lay out suggests movement.
Probably one of my favorites. I love the composition of this piece because of the particles and shafts of light coming through the windows or cracks in the wall. They are very instense and also create a silhouette of the man in the picture and cast shadows around.
More misty back light creating a dramatic effect with the lighting causing the people to be silhouetted.
I love this one. The glow from the candles creates a warm light but then it also casts hard unnatural shadows on the faces of the children.
The light is so intense it almost bleaches out parts of the picture but it is natural light. Real light that is casting real shadows.
The composition of this photo is beautiful. The intensity of the light is quite bright and it is bouncing of the rock and the water the angle of light is from directly overhead so it causes it to look like the same intensity all around.
This photo shows the sun shining but it isn't at its noon day intensity. It is setting and causing the beautiful twilight colors of gold and blues. The angle of light is coming from the back and causing the man to look like a silhouette and to have a show cast directly under him which we can see well because of the water.
This is a beautiful sunset. It is setting but the colors are unique. Instead of the regular purples and pinks that we think of when someone says 'sunset', it has that beautiful golden color with the blue sky. Because the sun is setting, the angle that it is at creates a dark look to the ocean, in this picture it is almost black.
The angle of light on this photo is from the back left (looking at the photo) is such that it is almost as if the figure is a silhouette but not quite. we can still see details of the person but the light kind of washes out real color. Their shadow is way sweet the way it is directly under them as well.
Another beach scene. I love the angle of light that is creating the silhouettes and the shadows. The colors are also very vivid. The warm glow of the sun causes the sand to look golden. The intensity of the light is so bright that it washes out the background.
The angle of light is coming from the back and slightly above is casting a very sharp shadow in front of the bug.
The light source of the sun is being reflected onto the guitarist. This draws our eye to him. This photo also is very artistic because of the angle of light that casts his shadow in its complete form.
Our eyes is drawn to her upper body and face because the light is more focus on it. There is a big shadow that is covering the lower part of her. The angle of light is such that it is casting some pretty hard shadows on her face.
The angle of light is very harsh. Her eyes are lost almost completely and the real focus is drawn to not her face but to the ceramic sun that she is holding and its dynamic shadow.
I really like this photo because it has a very intense light coming from the top right corner. this makes her right side flat and the other side very round. The angle is a lot softer for a more subtle look.
Movement is the focus here in this photo because the light is bouncing off of the tread marks in the field. Our eyes are drawn up and we follow the road up the photo.
The light in this photo is very intense causing the light parts of the photo to be enhanced and the shadows to appear.
The color in this photo is enhanced by the light that is shining on her. It creates a very stunning effect.
The light in this photo is more diffused. There are many different light sources. The light that is shining on her face is so intense that it washes her features out and creates a dark shadow on the other side of her face.
The colors in this photo are beautiful! I love the angle of light that is coming through the trees makes the back light on her slightly muted creating a glowing effect.
I really like the lighting here. It sets the mood and makes me feel like i am in the wild. The diffused angles of light is what brings the whole composition together.
The composition of this piece is really made up of the texture of the light coming through the grove. Can we say natures gobo?
This picture is much like the last two but here the basket of apples is the focus of the piece. Our eye is drawn here because of the light that is hitting them and bouncing off.
The best part of this piece is the particles of light coming through the blinds. The sun is angled just so, so that we can get this effect of later on in the day.
The angled back light of this photo show off the web of a master spider weaver.
The composition of this photo is such that the light has made is look fuzzy and yellow. I really like the rainbow though, the colors that it brings to the photo make the mood more fun.
I like the angled filtered light in this one that is going across the lake.
The lighting in this picture is cool. It really brings out the colors of the pine cones which are all in contrast to each other. Highlights and shadows make this a unique photo.
Because of the lighting in this picture, which looks very filtered, it looks as if it has just rained. The natural sunlight on the mountains shows us the majesty of the earth.
The lighting in this picture makes all of the colors look rich and natural. We can see clouds and it seems as if they are acting as a natural filter for the sun.
Once again this picture is very naturalistic. The lighting is very natural but here the angle is just a little higher accenting the top part of the mountain and making our eyes move upwards to the peak.
The light in this picture looks more pink. It automatically makes you think of a sunset. The color shows these mountains in a whole new light!
The light here suggests movement. The water is moving swiftly down this ravine. The angle of light is just perfect as it peeks into the cavern.
Typical low budget band lighting. It does add a certain flair to it though and sets the mood for a classic seasoned band and some good tunes.
The light hitting her face makes this moment magical. The colors are brought out in her shirt and the butterfly. The angle is casting highlights and shadows which give great contrast to each other.
This picture is full of light. Its intensity is so bright it brings all of the focus to the subject at hand and we see nothing else.
The natural sunlight in this photo shows us the beauty of this historic building. Because the light is so intense all over it gives an even flair to the composition of this piece.
The angle of the light which is back light gives her a silhouette that accentuate her figure nicely. It also gives an mysterious air to the over composition of it.
The light streaming through the windows and onto the seats of this church shows the silence that comes when the seats are not filled. It sets the overall mood about how we feel about this building. it is a church with natural lighting, this to me depicts God.
A raining day with a natural filter of clouds. This doesn't stop the light from coming down in an overhead angle to cast dramatic shadows below the person.
This one is my favorite. I love the fluorescent lighting from above bouncing off of the floor, but my favorite is the intensity of light that is coming from the milk cases. that light is almost making silhouettes of the people who are walking in front of it.
The sun is angled to the right and is casting shadows over the little rivets of snow.
Very dramatic shadows are cast across her face and body. It is accentuating her beauty and suggests a melancholy mood.
A more typical sunset which because of the color sets the mood for us and makes me think that it is a warm day at the beach and the sun is setting and putting on a show of light and color~!
The dramatic angle of light shows and accentuates the human body.
The glow that comes from within this art piece is gorgeous. It is mood lighting. Its intensity is very strong at the core and fades outward as it gets taller and fans out.
Because of the angle of this light we see a dramatic shadow, but because it is daytime it isn't a scary shadow, it is a lonely shadow. The light here sets the mood for the pictures.
The warm light coming from the top left of the photo basks the mountainside in diffused light! It brings out the colors in the sky and on the mountainside.
Color: the light seems to be at war with shadows; forcing the eye toward the sunset kissed signs. The color in this picture sets the mood and makes you feel good before you realize you are staring at a dumpster.
Shape/Distribution- the golden colors on the pier and on the trees suggest a sunset. Interesting how the colors of two opposite objects (one dead and one alive) are so similar because of the light distribution.

Color: the lighthouse is the brightest object and focal point of this piece because of the light intensity.
This suggests movement. A tornado is about to occour because the light is coming from behind- very dramatic.
